First Birthdays: Pandamonium
I once had a professor rant about the giant panda. “An evolutionary cul-de-sac,” he blustered, listing all of the reasons why they should be allowed to go extinct. Looking back, it was oddly out of place in a level 4000 tax accounting class. But I digress. We’re discussing birthday parties, not balance sheets.
Weston’s parents more or less accidentally fell into a panda party. Mom found some cute plates and the idea blossomed from there. The party functioned as more of a sip-and-see, as a lot of family came in to meet him for the first time. There was a play corner, the babies and toddlers got new panda lovies, and the adults got to catch up over a spread of dim sum. If you want to draw inspiration from Weston’s party, read on.
