Bastet and Bee Stationery: An Honest Review

Good afternoon! Today’s blog will be a brief break from Blogmas, although the product I’m reviewing would make a sunny addition to Christmas stockings.

As my Twitter followers know, I just spent three days in the hospital after my gallbladder decided to break up with me. When I finally arrived home Monday afternoon, a gorgeous surprise awaited me.

A few weeks ago, I contacted Sakina Robinson of Bastet & Bee on Twitter after seeing their innovative and superb designs. Their new d-bloc18 collection is all clean edges, sunny citrus tones, and cool greys.

I fell in love with the minimalist designs before I had the chance to see them in person. Sakina, Andrew, and Petite Luluah describe their designs as a “nice alternative to all the linear tools and a fun solution to creativity block.” I certainly agree!

To my delight, the egg yolk shades were brighter than I had expected, and my pen glided across the smooth pages. The notepad was bound at the long side instead of the shorter top side, as is expected. Chic little touches like that can really elevate an everyday product.

I enjoyed using my little circles to jot down possible blog ideas for the New Year. Then my mind wandered to the baking blog that was supposed to be in this place yesterday (until my gallbladder took off and attempted to spirit away my pancreas as well). I brainstormed ways to turn it into a Valentine’s Day baking blog post, so look for that!

I generally use lined notepads to facilitate coming up with ideas, and they can be daunting. But the Bastet & Bee notepad felt like a fun challenge.

The ability to work easily in landscape mode was a blessing as I conducted this review in bed. With a regular lined pad, I would not have flipped it on its side to work, even though that makes the most sense physically.

I was lucky enough to receive the Wallpaper deskpad, the pages of which line up perfectly and make one large design.

Bastet & Bee’s new d-bloc18 collection’s bright citrus aesthetic is unique and can currently only be found on their Etsy. Bastet & Bee is based in Bourges, France, but will ship worldwide.

These would make a great Christmas present for anyone who hoards office supplies or who loves simple and clean design. It looks gorgeous sitting on a desk. Best of all, the paper is sustainably produced.

In addition to their notepads, the Bastet & Bee stationery store also sells darling enamel pins like all those cool Gen Z interns have on their Kanken backpacks. The listed prices may change slightly due to exchange rates.

Bastet & Bee state that it will take 1-3 business days to ship to France and 3-5 to ship to the rest of Europe. My envelope was postmarked December third and it landed in my Florida mailbox the tenth. The envelope was covered in several darling French Christmas stamps, which my daughter and I enjoyed looking at very much.

The Bastet & Bee A5 Deskpad was the perfect pick-me-up! I have really enjoyed scribbling down future blog ideas in the little circles. Sakina, Andrew, and Petite Luluah have hit a home run with this collection.

Please note that I received a free product in exchange for this review. If I thought the notepad was garbage, I would have told you so.
